Curriculum of the Cisco network academy
Question: Why are the Local academies to conduct all the four courses?
If trainees do not take all the four terms of the curriculum, they do not get
enough practical skills in the supporting of routing and communication TCP/IP.network.
Besides, they do not receive enough knowledge to take exam for the certificate
CiscoCertifiedNetworkingAssociate. We are striving to prepare traineers for
the final exam and avoid incomplete programs.
Question: May I look the sample of the curriculum?
The sample of the first course and the broad course of all the four courses
are on our server. Look the demonstration.
Question: Should the trainees and instructors of the Regional and
Local Academies have any additional knowledge to participate in the curriculum?
It is supposed that trainees have no knowledge of network technologies.
Question: What about the approval of the Cisco academy program by
the establishment exercising control over the education in our country?
Every country has its own requirements to approve its program. Cisco does not
take any steps to get international accreditation of the program, but we are
interested in cooperating with the government of any country to obtain necessary
accreditation.
Question: Is it necessary to know the previous course in order to
begin studying the next one and is any course the continuation of the previous
one?
Yes. The study of the previous course is necessary as, for example, the second
course is the continuation of the first one. The courses are worked out so that
they should be taught one hour a day during 5 days a week, the scheme may be
changed if the training is organized in blocks.
Question: Should the number of people in the class be definite to
take part in the program?
The only Cisco requirement is that not more than 3 trainees should be at one
computer. The group is supposed to be of 20 students, but there may be 30 or
25 trainees.
Question:Will trainees print the textbook from Internet or will they
buy them?
We would not advise to print the education materials from Internet as they have
interactive elements with Quick Time films and animation. At present, teachers
and trainees utilize on line programs.
Question: Is the education material in copyright? The Regional Academy
cannot control using the materials out of the school. Are there any limitations
on using it?
The educational plan is in copyright. The materials of courses and printed materials
are also considered in copyright.
Question: Is there a limitation on the number of Cisco courses?
No. You may conduct them as often as you like. And if you decide to have another
laboratory, you can buy it
Question: May we use a part of Cisco course in teaching our own courses?
You may deliver a review of the course to increase interest of your students
in it. But Cisco is against using Cisco material and including it in somebody's
education plan. The teaching of Cisco course as a specialized course at any
establishments is prohibited. We think that some review material can be lectured
but it cannot cancel the necessity of teaching the whole Cisco curriculum.
Question: Can the Regional academy use Cisco educational materials
for teaching administrative personnel and information system specialists or
these materials are meant for the curriculum?
The materials can be used not only for educational purposes. It will be great
advantage for any educational institution to have Cisco information system specialists.
Such workers can supervise the work of students.
Question: Can Cisco courses be used only to get the certificate or
they may be included in the education plan of two year training of specialists
(besides, of course, other courses)?
There is a Cisco program for training partner for those who would like to be
engaged in teaching trainers. The group of Cisco instructors is interested in
training new trainers-partners. But the Cisco does not want Academies to compete
with training partners and to practice accelerated training specialists. The
program was elaborated and tested. It is not desirable that it should be turned
into every day's 8 hour seminars. For such purpose the seminar course for training
partners exist.
Question: How is the certificate which trainees get on finishing 4
courses and on passing the final exam called?
Cisco Certified networking associate (CCNA).
Question: How to confine access of networking associates to test and
marks?
The network Academy tests are in Zip cartridge. It is installed into CiscoMicroWebserver
only on the day of exams, then it is put out. It is also supposed that all the
protected data are stored in Computer Memory having a limited access, for example,
having the authentication of a user and parole.
Question: Do trainees lay wires?
Yes, if there is insurance and trade union permit, trainees lay wires in the
laboratory and in the facility. They must get as much skill as possible. The
curriculum assumes that trainees have no knowledge of network technologies.
