The Cisco academy curriculum

The training of networking specialists is one of the lines of the activities of the scientific and educational UzSciNet network of Uzbekistan. So, it is but natural that it is on the base of the UzSciNet network in 2000 that the first and the only in Uzbekistan , at present, Cisco local certified network academy and the training center were opened.

The Cisco Local academy works on the base of the Agreement concluded with the Cisco Regional academy located in Alma-Ata. The training is executed at two levels: regional designed to get education trainers, and local intended to teach students. The broad curriculum in the Local academy consists of four terms. Each of them lasts one and a half months and includes the study of a definite number of chapters. Cisco students attend classes twice a week, each class lasts not less than 4 hours.

Every student has his Personal Computer. The lessons are given individually. During each term an intermediate testing in the topic under study is conducted. The educational plan also includes a practical course designed to teach students computer skills: how to connect PC to the network, to install program and so on. The trainees are supposed to have basic technical education and to know physical principles of the network organization. To have a good knowledge of English is one of the compulsory demands to be a Cisco student. After studying the educational materials the trainees take exam in each chapter. Thus, the training is conducted in strict accordance with the main demands to any professional kind of technical activity.
