The United Nations Development Program

The United Nations Organization was established on the 24-th October,1945, with a view of saving peace by developing international cooperation and of guarding collective security. At present, 189 countries are members of the UNO.

The office of UNO representatives was opened in Uzbekistan in 1993, and in 1994 the work at some programs began � environmental protection, privatization and development of private sector, culture.

Thanks to the UNDP, many problems in the field of transit transportation and communication were solved: bridges are constructed, new highways are built. Because of it, the Central Asia region improved its position to be a binding chain between the East, the West, the North and the South. An active support is rendered in the field of economic reforms.

The UNDP is in the guard of efforts for ensuring progress in social and economic field. Being the greatest multilateral UNO mechanism of providing subsidies for sustainable development of human potential, the UNDP acts in 174 countries and Territories and directs its efforts to promoting technical cooperation and eradicating poverty.
